Studio Policy

PRIVATE LESSONS & CANCELLATION POLICY:

  • Should you need to cancel your private lesson, you will need to contact the office directly via email with the date and time you are cancelling.

  • All appointments must be booked, changed or canceled with the office staff, NOT your instructor.

  • If you call the office to cancel your lesson and no one answers, leave a message, even if it is Saturday or Sunday.

  • 24 hour notice is required for a 1 hour private lesson.

  • 48 hour notice is required for a 2 hour private lesson, offsite private lessons, or any lessons booked outside of regular booking hours.

  • Same day cancellations will be charged the full private lesson fee.

  • Proof of your cancellation email must be presented if there is a dispute over whether the private lesson was cancelled or not.

  • Single private lessons and packages of 5 Private Lessons are valid for 4 months from the date of activation. Packages of 10 or 20 private lessons are valid for 6 months from the date of activation.

  • Private lessons are 55 minutes in length and all booked time must be paid for in advance. 

  • Payments are accepted via credit card online and at the door. There is a service fee for all purchases made with credit card.

  • There are no refunds.

GROUP CLASSES/WORKSHOPS:

  • Class cards for our ongoing classes are valid for 4 months from the date of purchase. With th exception of special offers like Black Friday , Holiday Sales etc, those sales are valid ONLY until the date specified on the promotion.

  • Classes cards are non-transferable and are not able to be shared.

  • There are no credits for unused or unattended classes from any of our workshops.  Any missed classes will not be refunded.

  • Group classes are 50 minutes in length.

  • Payments are accepted via credit card online and at the door. There is a service fee for all purchases made with credit card.

  • There are no refunds.

GIFTS OF DANCE

  • Prepaid "Gifts of Dance" group dance classes or private lessons are good for 4 months from your first class. Upon activation, the "Gift of Dance" is valid for 4 months from the date of activation. 10 and 20 packages of privates are valid for 6 months from date of activation.

  • Payments are accepted via credit card online and at the door. There is a service fee for all purchases made with credit card. 

  • There are no refunds.

STUDIO RENTAL POLICY:

  • Please be aware that any damage caused by non-compliance of studio rules will result in additional damage fees.

  • No foreign substance is allowed on the floor. (ie: tape, resin, baby powder, or wax) If needed, a special floor tape for marking off stage dimensions, must be requested from the Studio. Any outside tape (including Scotch tape) is NOT allowed.

  • Do not touch, lean or stack chairs, etc against any mirrors.

  • Do not plug any electronic equipment into stereo sound systems. There are separate outlets that you are welcome to use. 

  • Do not nail anything to walls without prior permission of studio rep. Any tape used on walls must be requested from the Studio.

  • Do not remove any studio sound equipment or decorative wall hangings without permission . **You are not permitted to remove decorative lights (ie: Christmas lights) without permission. Any film coatings/coverings on the windows must be approved by the office.

  • Do not use fog machines or chemicals producing any fog or smoke.

  • Volume on sound system must be set to "0" before and after inserting or unplugging the auxiliary chord in order to avoid damage to your equipment and ours.

  • Do not sit or hang on ballet barres.

  • No Flamenco or Tap is permitted on our Ballroom floors.

  • If you need a piano, you must make the request when booking the space.

  • We cannot store any items/equipment. Any left equipment or props, (speakers, tables, chairs, etc) will be charged an overnight storage fee, unless arranged at the time of the booking.

  • Filming Parameters for 3rd Street Dance: Filming is limited to Studio A and Z only - any additional filming in Studio B or C requires permission.You may film anywhere in the 2nd floor of the building including the stairwell and hallways.From the outside you may film the center front of the building between the 2 black columns including shots entering the front of the building from the outside. The sidewalk in front of the building is public property and you may film talent walking on the sidewalk toward the studio entrance, however do not shoot any part of the front façade except between the black columns. You may film the 2nd floor back entrance from inside the studio premises only. This includes the landing directly in front of the door. You may NOT film in the parking lot, the sides of the building, the east and west back stairs, or any of the first or second floor windows from the outside of the building.

  • Payment schedule: Payment is due in full for all rentals, at the time of your booking confirmation. A $100 per day non refundable fee will be charged for all rentals booked with five hour time blocks or more. *Bookings that require payments to be invoiced shall have a period of 6 weeks to pay for their booking in full and must still provide a credit card to keep on file. If payment is not received within 6 weeks the credit card will be charged and a 5% late fee will incur. All bookings require a credit card to be submitted in order to secure the booking.

  • Cancellations: Should you need to cancel your booking a 24 hr notice is required for bookings of 5 hours or less. In the event that 24 hrs notice is not given you be responsible for your full rental charge. For all bookings of 5 hours or more a non-refundable deposit of $100 per day per room is required.  All bookings that are booked outside of our regular rental hours (Monday-Saturday 10 am to 5pm) require a 48 hour cancellation.

  • There are no refunds.

Studio & Facility Indemnification:

  • The Studio is in no way liable for any damage to or theft of, automobiles or any contents therein which may be parked in the building’s parking lot. Should you forgo providing your own liability insurance during your rental, you agree to our Indemnification Clause.

  • Indemnification Clause: You, as a renter shall indemnify, hold harmless and defend the 3rd Street Dance, its owners, directors, agents, partners, employees, students, and customers from and against any and all liabilities, damages, actions, costs, losses, claims and expenses (including attorneys’ fees and court costs), caused by or resulting from, in whole or in part, any tort or act, omission, negligence, intentional misconduct, fault or violation of law or ordinance, committed by RENTER or RENTER employees, agents, students, guests, contractors, team/crew or associate, which occurs during the use or occupancy of the Facilities by RENTER under this Agreement. All personal property housed or brought on the Facilities shall be at the risk of the RENTER, and 3rd Street Dance shall have no liability for any damage or loss to any personal property located thereon for any cause whatsoever. When at fault, RENTER agrees and understands that 3rd Street Dance insurance shall not carry coverage for fire, theft or liability insurance during the occupation of the Facilities to cover the RENTERS interest therein.
